In thinking about the masculine archetype, I use the image of a constellation, a pattern of stars. And Orion seems appropriate for that. Here's an image of that image.
In Mormon theology, their God, "Heavenly Father" or "Elohim", was once a man on another world, created by the God of that universe. He progressed through all the stages of perfection until he reached full divinity --along with his wives--and became able to create his own universe and people it with spirit children who would then be born into physical bodies and begin the very same process that he traversed. He remains a fully physical being, however.
(This theologem is the origin of the Mormon drive toward polygamy: it takes a lot of mothers to allow spirit children to be incarnated. Monogamy really slows up the process.)
In an ecumenical gesture toward the Church of JC of LD Saints, you might imagine this heavenly male as their Creator God. Gives the common phrase "The Man Upstairs" new meaning...
