Islamophobia squared

If you think that Ex Cathedra is unfriendly toward the Religion of Peace, you should visit the comments sections where Muslims/Pakistanis and Indians*/Hindus slug it out.

Or watch/listen to Salman Rushdie opine about Pakistan, at 1:10 -- 3:10

Like I say, I'm the Mr Rogers of the Right.

*And speaking of Indians, a sweet gay love story with only 1.5 stereotypes and more than 2 likeable men in leading roles. A bit didactic, not a great work of literature, and one or two PC moments, but, hey, beggars can't be choosers.

A sweet movie. Very informative, if it feels a bit like a documentary at times. And that's what I get for using Wikipedia as a source of information about the condition of homosexuality in India. I should know better. :(

But the bit about the caste system having positive benefits was amusing. The obligatory Bollywood dance number was cheesy, but hey. And I can't be the only one who thought the Scottish bloke was totally hitting on the main character. Either he was totally clueless as to what he was doing, or it was completely intentional. I, for one, would not have minded some Scottish beef. ;)

The bit with the hijra was... odd. I guess, even on different continents and with completely different cultural origins, a drag queen is still a drag queen.
