Well, this is novel

Jesus Had Game | Chateau Heartiste:

It does take another perspective on the widely-ignored fact that Jesus "the servant" was in fact always in control.

So when Pope Francis says that he's "the slave" of the poor, etc. you should take it with a beachful of grains of salt.

I'll be frank: I liked Benedict a lot more than I like Francis, who tends to… dare I say it?… bloviate. The introspective German scholar is far more to my taste than the extroverted Argentine abuelito.

That being said, Francis is playing the PR game, playing up his niceness and Latin-ness to take heat off the Church. Additionally, Francis may be gearing up to call the next ecumenical council, this one in response to the sexual revolution. He's already working to address the sex abuse scandal, he's responded favorably to calls by the cardinals to revise the annulment requirements, and he's requested that the cardinals look into the gay marriage/civil union business to see if there is a way that the Church can get on board with them, at least in a limited way.

The Church is preparing for another step. Let's just hope it's in the right direction.

What would that direction be?

What evidence is there that any Christian body which has capitulated to the 'sexual revolution' (which exists solely among secularized Westerners) has done anything but continue its decline into both numerical and societal irrelevance?

That twit of a former Archbishop of Cadbury is beginning to look pretty good.
